Ingredients

  • Chicken wings — 2 pounds
  • Mexican hot sauce — 1/2 cup
  • Lime juice — 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder — 1 teaspoon
  • Cayenne pepper — 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika — 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt — 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper — 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil — 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh cilantro — 1/4 cup, chopped

Directions

1. In a large bowl, combine the Mexican hot sauce, lime juice, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
2. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly with the marinade. Cover the bowl and let the wings marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight for maximum flavor.
3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). If frying, heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large skillet.
4. If baking, line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the marinated wings on the rack, leaving space between each wing.
5. Bake the wings for 40-45 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through. If frying, deep-fry the wings in batches until they are crispy and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes per batch.
6. Once cooked, transfer the wings to a serving platter and sprinkle them with fresh cilantro.
7. Serve the spicy Mexican chicken wings hot with your favorite dipping sauce or salsa.
8. Enjoy the fiery and flavorful wings!
