Spaghetti Carbonara is a classic Italian pasta dish that features a creamy sauce made with eggs, Parmesan cheese, and bacon. It's a simple yet delicious recipe that is sure to satisfy your pasta cravings.
Ingredients
Servings
- 8 ounces Spaghetti
- 4 slices Bacon (diced)
- 2 Eggs (large)
- 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper (freshly ground)
- 0.25 teaspoon Salt
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (chopped)
Directions
1. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced bacon and cook until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the rendered fat in the pan.
3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and salt.
4. Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the rendered bacon fat and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
5. Remove the skillet from the heat. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat it with the bacon fat.
6. Pour the egg and cheese mixture over the spaghetti, tossing quickly to coat the pasta evenly. The heat from the pasta will cook the eggs, creating a creamy sauce.
7. Add the cooked bacon back to the skillet and toss to combine.
8. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and additional grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
9. Serve the Spaghetti Carbonara immediately and enjoy!
