Horchata is a traditional Mexican beverage made with rice, milk, and spices. This recipe will guide you through making a delicious and refreshing horchata at home.

- 1 cup Rice
- 4 cups Water
- 2 Cinnamon sticks
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 0.5 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Milk
- Ice cubes (as desired)
- Ground cinnamon (for garnish)
Directions
1. In a blender, combine the rice, water, and cinnamon sticks.
2. Blend the mixture on high speed for 1-2 minutes until the rice is finely ground.
3. Let the rice mixture sit at room temperature for about 1 hour.
4. After 1 hour, blend the rice mixture again for 1-2 minutes.
5. Strain the rice mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a pitcher.
6. Add vanilla extract, sugar, and milk to the pitcher. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved.
7. Refrigerate the horchata for at least 2 hours or until chilled.
8. To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled horchata over the ice.
9. Sprinkle ground cinnamon on top for garnish.
10. Stir the horchata before drinking, as the mixture may separate while refrigerated.
